My family is coming to town for Easter and I couldn’t be happier! We usually don’t go longer than 3 months without seeing each other, but COIVD threw a major wrench in that!
When we are together, we always have a menu for the trip, complete with drinks! We are expecting so I can’t drink, but I decided to not be a grouch and still prepare something fun! Since starting the blog, they have come to expect a new drink each visit (they are so spoiled).
This Strawberry Limeade Easter Punch is perfect for spring/summer and will look so pretty on your Easter table this year! I tried something new by sweetening with honey vs. simple sugar. I hope you enjoy it!
Ingredients:
- 1 C Honey
- 1 1/2 C Water
- 1 C Lime juice (I used about 20 limes)
- 5 Basil leaves chopped
- 1 C Sliced Strawberries + 1 C for garnish
- 6 C Water
- *Optional shot of whiskey to your cups (my taste testers said they made taste even better)
Directions
- Add honey and 1 1/2 cups of water to a saucepan over medium heat until honey completely dissolves. Set aside to cool
- Zest 2-3 limes in the saucepan above. – Save those limes for juicing
- Add honey syrup, lime juice, sliced strawberries, and chopped basil into a pitcher and stir.
- Add in about 6 cups of water and stir again.
- Place in fridge for about 3 hours. — We found that it tasted even better after about 6 hours
- Serve over ice and garnish with strawberries, limes, and basil — add your shot here if you would like it spiked
Makes 6-8 servings and will last in the fridge for about 3 days.
I hope you all enjoy this Strawberry Limeade Easter Punch as much as we did!
XOXO, Laya
