It finally felt like fall in Georgia over the Halloween weekend! I whipped up this Mulled Cider that we, of course, spiked to keep us warm! This drink has all the things fall is made of; cinnamon, spice, and everything nice (rum) lol! The rum is the last thing you add so this can be enjoyed by the entire family!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 gallon apple cider (you may as well get a gallon, people will want more)
- 2 large oranges
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 TBS star anise extract
- 1 TBS whole cloves
- 2″ ginger root, sliced
- 2 C spiced rum
- 1 apple
Directions:
- Slice 1 orange in 4ths
- Peel and slice ginger into strips
- Slice apple into rounds
- Stir apple cider, 1 orange sliced in 4ths, juice of 1/2 an orange, cinnamon sticks, cloves, anise extract, and apples into the slow cooker
- Heat on high for about 2 hours
- Add rum and reduce heat to keep warm
- Garnish with apples and cinnamon sticks and enjoy
