Making simple syrup is pretty simple, (lol) hence the name! They sell it for a few dollars per bottle at the store but it only cost pennies to make!
We keep simple syrup on hand, mostly for cocktails but I’ve infused it for sangria, coffee creamer and glazes! It’s super versatile and dissolves quicker than pure sugar! —have you ever tired to sweeten iced tea or coffee with sugar?
Ingredients:
- 1 cup granulated or pure cane sugar
- 1 cup water
Directions:
- Add water and sugar to a saucepan over medium heat and whisk together
- Bring to a boil stirring occasionally until sugar is dissolved, about 5 mins
- Let cool completely before using
- Store in a mason jar or airtight container in the fridge for up to a month
Let me know below how you use your simple syrup!
XOXO, Laya

Simple syrup is essential! Cocktails, teas, etc. I keep a mason jar full in the fridge at all times.
