My birthday feels like the perfect time to really introduce myself to you all! I have created this space so I can share my experiences! Not because I have it all together but because I truly believe that the next person shouldn’t have to work as hard as me to figure things out. As life changes, you will see small shifts here but I decided on a lifestyle blog because I plan to share a little of every part of me 🙂

5 Facts About Aleah

I am from Elkhart, Indiana – I was born in Milwaukee, WI, but raised in Elkhart by a very large and supportive family! Elkhart is a small town but I will always be proud of who it made me. My parents did a great job exposing us to different experiences growing up. It allowed me to appreciate living in a small town without “getting stuck” or making excuses because of it.
I got married in Mexico in 2019 – I met my husband in Minneapolis when I cut him in line at the club 🙂 You can read all about that and how we decided on a destination wedding in my wedding posts but we LOVED IT!! Deams Playa Mujeres was the perfect backdrop for the next chapter in our love story.
I have ulcerative colitis (UC) – In 2012 I was diagnosed with UC. A chronic, inflammatory bowel disease that causes inflammation in the digestive tract. It is caused by an abnormal immune response and there is currently not a cure. UC affects my life daily but by no means does it define it!
I am a full-time consultant – I work for a Big Data firm where I provide business insights from a marketing and consumer standpoint. The LayaB is something I do in my free time.
This isn’t for the gram- If you know me you know that I will whip up a charcuterie board and pull out every wine glass on a Tuesday. I will help you prep for an interview and make a custom celebratory drink after. I will make sure you know how amazing you are and motivate you! I love hard and intentionally. I want the people I love to always feel special. I am sharing my life with you all but I am in no way putting on!
