As a Newlywed I had A LOT of plans for our first year of marriage. COVID-19 had other plans but God knows exactly what he is doing! I have always said we work because we are best friends and marriage has not changed that. Does this first year of marriage look different that we expected, yes. Has it been everything we needed? H E C K| Y E S!!!

2. A Dance Party
Lil Jon DJ’s live Saturday nights and really turns the living room into a club! Move the coffee table, make some cocktails, and turn up! You won’t even feel like you are at home after a few songs!
3. Cooking Together
Hop on Pinterest or the In My Kitchen Tab here and find a few recipes the 2 of you can make together! Open a bottle of wine while cooking and be present with each other! If you really want it to be a vibe make a playlist for the night!
4. Sip and Paint
Maybe you can find a local artist but Digital Sip and Paint will send you everything you need for an at-home sip and paint date! They even offer virtual classes you can join! They are usually BYOB but this way you don’t have to drive home so TURN UP!
5. A Backyard Picnic
My husband planned one for us that was the perfect blend of childhood favs (Twinkie’s) with adult luxuries (wine)! He made a bomb playlist, we played checkers and ended up jamming in the backyard until the sun went down!
If you have been sheltering in place with your partner it may feel like you have spent more than enough time together but romance and intimacy are still necessary. Dress up cute for each other, turn your phones off and give your relationship some qualify time! Make it a habit to prioritize your relationship! For us, we want to build the habit before kids so we never stop dating 🙂
