Nothing screams fall like Caramel Apples! My decorating skills need A LOT OF WORK but these caramel apples are still super yummy! The caramel with milk chocolate and pecans was my favorite! Heavy turtle vibes. 🙂 This was my first time decorating apple, so when I get better I’ll update the pics lol
Ingredients:
- 6 small apples (Gala, Granny Smith, McIntosh) -wax-free options are great
- 14 oz bag caramels (I used Kraft Caramels)
- 2 TBS water or heavy cream
- 8 wooden popsicle or lollipop sticks
- Optional garnish: Chopped nuts, melting chocolate, chopped pretzels, sprinkles, chocolate chips, etc.
Directions:
- Wash apples and dry completely
- Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and insert sticks onto apples
- In a saucepan over medium-low heat combine caramels and water until smooth
- Tip pan at an angle and dip the apple into the mixture. Spin apple to remove excess caramel. — if using nuts or pretzels add them now
- Place on a baking sheet and refrigerate for 20 minutes
- Drizzle chocolate of using and let it set before enjoying
Caramel Apple Decorating Notes:
- You may need to reheat your caramel if it gets too thick
- Let the caramel set before you add the chocolate
- If you want to stick nuts, candy, pretzels, etc. to the caramel, you have to do it as soon as you finish dipping
Grab a bag of your favorite caramels and get started! Caramel apples this easy make for some fall family fun! Speaking of, how is your Fall Bucket List going? Make sure you tag me in your caramel apple photos! I can’t wait to see all the fun decorations 🙂
XOXO, Laya
