The holidays can be a really tough time under normal circumstances, and COVID has made them even tougher. We should never feel like we need to spend money to show love! If you take a moment to really think about the times the ones you love most really smiled, you will know exactly what to give them.
5 Free Gifts
1. Quality Time
I know we have spent a ton of time in the house this year but that does not mean that you have given your loved one true quality time. This gift requires you to put your phone away, clear your mind, and really be present.
2. A Love Letter
Hear me out with this one. Love letters are not reserved for just your significant other, while I’m sure they would appreciate one. You can write a love letter to anyone or anything you love! Is there a product or service that you really enjoyed? I’m sure the owner or their supervisor would love to hear about it! Have you told your parents how impactful they have been? What about your siblings, do they know how proud of them you are and how much you admire them?
Give people their flowers while they are living. I am sure your loved ones will appreciate a surprise love letter!
3. A Helping Hand
Do you have a friend who is renovating or taking on a few DIY projects? Why not lend them a helping hand? Are you good at something that can really help others? Organizing, resumes, web design? Check-in with people, see how you can help them reach their goals. We all have things we are good at, why not offer them up to those you love?
4. Babysitters Club
We have been stuck in the house and my friends with kids deserve a break! Why not offer some free babysitting nights to those you love? Let them know that you see how hard they work and think they deserve a little break! Offer to babysit for a few hours or even overnight if you can manage it. Even if they only use the time to wrap gifts, I’m sure they would appreciate it.
5. Honesty
I may be digging a little deep with this one but I promise it’s the gift that will keep on giving. Honesty is a gift that you can give someone or keep for yourself. Go within and see what happens. A gratitude list is a great way to get your honest juices flowing.
Remember Jesus is the reason for the season, not lavish gifts. Do not feel bad or go broke trying to wow with your gift-giving. The ones you love will enjoy these free gifts any time of the year!
XOXO, Laya
